Backpack Exchange FAQ: accounts, deposits, wallet and support
You can deposit to Backpack Exchange with USDC on Solana, Ethereum or Base, USDT on Solana or Ethereum, or a USD wire; the answers below cover accounts, funding, the wallet and support, and the last section links to the pages that answer fee, security, licence and product questions.
For information only. Not investment advice. Each answer comes from a Backpack page read on 6 October 2026 or a public register read on 11 October 2026; where the sources are silent, the answer says so.
Accounts
Is Backpack Exchange a centralised exchange or a DEX?
Backpack Exchange is a centralised, custodial exchange, not a DEX. The exchange holds client assets: custody and administration of crypto-assets is one of the services listed for "Trek Technologies" SIA, its EU crypto company, in the ESMA interim MiCA register, and Backpack publishes a daily proof of reserves for client balances. The Backpack Wallet is a separate self-custody product.
Is Backpack a bank?
No, Backpack is not a bank. The footer of the live site states: "Backpack is a financial services platform, not a bank. Banking services are provided by Backpack's bank partners." The bank partners are not named in the sources read for this page. The companies that do provide Backpack services are listed under licences and availability by region.
Can I hold crypto and stocks in the same account?
Yes, according to the live site, which describes the brokerage and the exchange as being in the same place and says that stocks are usable as collateral. The products come from different companies: the live stock pages, as served to an EU address, name Trek Brokerage Services Limited as the intermediary broker, so the provider depends on what you trade and where you live.
Can I have more than one account?
Yes, in the form of subaccounts: Backpack's home page lists isolated subaccounts among the features of an account. How they are opened, how many are allowed and whether one person may hold a second main account are not stated in the sources read for this page, so check the Backpack help centre before you rely on any of these.
Funding your account
How can I deposit to Backpack Exchange?
You can deposit stablecoins or US dollars. The live stocks page names USDC on Solana, Ethereum and Base, USDT on Solana and Ethereum, and USD by wire, and it describes funding with stablecoins across more than 15 networks or through fiat rails. The home page adds that USD wires carry no fee in either direction; funding costs are covered in the Backpack Exchange fee schedule.
Which networks can I use for USDC and USDT?
USDC is accepted on Solana, Ethereum and Base, and USDT on Solana and Ethereum, according to the live stocks page read on 6 October 2026. The same page mentions stablecoins across more than 15 networks without listing them, so use only the network shown with your deposit address: a transfer sent on a network the address does not support may not be recoverable.
Wallet and app
What is the Backpack Wallet?
The Backpack Wallet is a self-custody crypto wallet, which means you hold the keys and Backpack does not hold the assets for you. The live home page describes it as self-custody across more than 10 networks, with swaps and bridging between networks that it calls zero-fee, multiple accounts and custom RPC endpoints. It is a separate product from the exchange account.
Is the Backpack Wallet the same as my exchange account?
No. The wallet is self-custody: the assets in it sit at addresses that you control, and you are responsible for the keys. An exchange account is custodial: Backpack Exchange holds the assets and records your balance. The daily proof of reserves covers exchange balances (spot balances, margin positions and unrealised PnL), not what you keep in the wallet.
Where do I download the Backpack app?
Download the mobile app from the App Store listing for iOS or the Google Play listing for Android; both are linked from the live home page, whose Downloads and Android APK links lead to the downloads page at backpack.app. Start from these links or from the official site, not from a search result, so that you do not install a copy.
Support and complaints
How do I contact Backpack support?
Use the help centre at support.backpack.exchange or email [email protected]. The Contact link in the footer of the live site leads to the help centre, and the email address is the one published in the Dubai complaints procedure. No support telephone number is published on the home page of the main site. Every route is listed with the support channels.
How do I make a complaint?
Email your complaint to [email protected]. Under the complaints procedure published for Dubai, a complaint is acknowledged no later than one week after it is received. That procedure applies only to clients onboarded by Trek Labs Ltd FZE, and no procedure for clients of the other Backpack companies appears in the sources read for this page. The steps are set out in the complaints policy.
Which Backpack websites and accounts are official?
The official websites are backpack.exchange, eu.backpack.exchange, learn.backpack.exchange, support.backpack.exchange, guide.backpack.exchange, docs.backpack.exchange and backpack.app. The footer of the live site links five official accounts: X (x.com/backpack), Discord (discord.gg/backpack), YouTube (@Backpack_Official), LinkedIn (company/backpackexchange) and Reddit (r/Backpack_official). Check the address bar before you sign in, and treat a domain or account that is not on this list as unverified.
